Blogger Tips : Twelve (12) ways to make your blog posts more credible
Here are twelve ways to make your blog posts more credible:
1. Use rich, vivid detail.
When you use rich, vivid language, words that paint vivid pictures in your reader’s mind, she tends to believe what you are saying because she can see it for herself. After all, seeing, as they say, is believing!
2. Use scientific or technical language.
I know this goes against the grain of what most people suggest. But depending on the type of article you are writing, it might be appropriate to use scientific or technical terminology that demonstrates (without over doing it) your grasp — and thus, your authority — on the topic.
3. Use sequencing or process description.
In some cases, it may be appropriate to describe the steps involved in achieving an outcome. A list of numbered steps would be a good example of this. Or even a simple description in a single paragraph such as:
After taking your new computer monitor out of the box the first thing you will notice is a small bag containing three cords. One cord is blue, one is red, and the other black. Take the blue cord and plug the USB end into your computer, plug the other end (color coded orange) into the left side of the monitor in the port labeled “audio in”. And so on.
4. Use charts, diagrams and graphs.
There’s a saying in selling (where credibility is paramount) that “nothing sells like a demonstration”. The saying holds true in building the credibility for your article content too. If the content of your article lends itself to demonstration via a chart, graph or diagram you should use it.
5. Use a photograph depicting the article topic in action.
This may not always be possible. But have you noticed how the news media use intriguing photos to pull you into the article by attracting your attention? Photos can be as equally powerful when used in your articles to add credibility to your message.
6. Use awards, certificates or qualifications.
Have you any special certificates or awards for achievement that support your credibility as an author or that support the message you are writing about? If so, use them in your articles. The majority of the masses still regard qualifications as a measure of a persons knowledge and trustworthy-ness.
7. Use testimonials and endorsements.
If you say it it’s hearsay. If someone else says it it’s probably true. So use testimonials or endorsements in your articles, especially from a recognized source. If it’s written about in the New York Times or if someone famous backs it up, mention it in your article.
8. Use a logical flow of information, especially logical argument.
Start your article with a strong point your reader will agree with, then carefully walk the reader through a series of “facts” or flow of information that leads them to the conclusion you want them to accept. In this way, you can build a bridge from the things your reader already believes to the things you want them to accept and trust.
9. Use personal stories or anecdotes.
It’s pretty hard to argue with a true story about something that happened to you or someone you know (or even someone famous). If you have stories or anecdotes relevant to the point you want to make in your article, use them.
10. Use case studies — especially examples from the lives of people your reader can relate to.
If there’s a good documented case study of the point you want to make, use it in your article. Bring out the detail of the people and places involved and your argument becomes even stronger.
11. Use meaningful specifics, not vague generalities.
There’s a certain attractive quality in the specific. The more specific facts and details you use the more people feel what you’re saying is accurate. For example, avoid using phrases like: “Many years ago”. Instead say, “On the 26th May, 2005, a week after my Dad’s birthday …”
12. Use examples to illustrate your point.
Even in conversation it helps if you give your listener examples of what you are saying to help him or her understand your message. It’s no different in writing articles. If you want to see the true power of examples as a “communication improver,” try deliberately explaining yourself through examples in the next conversation you have with someone at home or at the office.
The extent of the multi-year ice sheets in the Arctic is rapidly declining
It's no longer a secret to anyone that the extent of the multi-year ice sheets in the Arctic is rapidly declining. At this point, there are several predictions as to when the North Pole will become completely clear of ice during the summer months, but none of them is too encouraging. Unlike Antarctica, which is based on ground, the Arctic is made up entirely of floating ice, and one of the main reasons why it's melting – other than global climate change – is the fact that the ocean underneath is warming. But researchers say the true extent of ice loss is still unknown, AlphaGalileo reports.
Over the past couple of years, the estimates of when the ice covering the North Pole will disappear have been reducing constantly. Dr. David Barbers explained why in new conference, which took place yesterday, June 11. The expert was the leader of one of the most important research initiatives carried out under the International Polar Year (IPY) flag – The Circumpolar Flaw Lead (CFL) system study. The team that conducted the investigation featured more than 370 members from 27 countries. The status of multi-year ice was the main goal of the study.
“Scientists spend a lot of energy discussing the squiggly line generated for satellite data on sea ice extent. But the extent does not reflect the real condition of the sea ice. I think we are all looking forward to getting reliable data on the thickness from Cryosat. Because what really counts is the condition and thickness of the multi-year ice. Even though the extent of the ice went up, both winter maximum and summer minimum, in 2008 and 2009, the amount of multi-year ice continued to decline rapidly,” he explained. The expert added that the North Pole lost over 2.5 million square kilometers of ice over the past three decades, which is the equivalent of 70,000 square kilometers per year.
“Last summer we studied sea ice recovery in the Southern Beaufort Sea aboard the research vessel Amundsen. We expected to be stopped by thick multi-year ice, but the Amundsen, ice classed to make it through 1,2 meters of ice, was not stopped. We realized that the ice was rotten. We also observed that thaw pools were formed on top of the ice, gradually melting through the multi-year ice. This process left the multi-year ice as floating lumps. When the freeze started, what looked like solid ice, was really the lumps with a 5 [centimeters] thin ice layer on top. This ice was mistaken by the radar for multi-year ice,” the scientist revealed at the meeting. via news softpedia.

Screenshots' of BlackBerry Shield Surface
One of the services Canadian mobile phone maker Research in Motion has been long rumored to be working on was the BlackBerry Shield, some sort of a security solution for the users of BlackBerry devices, which has been recently uncovered courtesy of a series of leaked screenshots. There are still a great deal of details that are unknown about the service, but it seems that it is about to enter the testing stage in the near future, and that it might not be too long before it would be launched publicly.
The new BlackBerry Shield includes the possibility of tracking the GPS location of a certain BlackBerry smartphone, to perform wireless backups of the device, to remotely wipe it, and more features. The screenshots brought to the Internet by bbnews.pl are meant to show not only that the service exists, but also some of its main features. Both the web and the device interface can be “previewed” in the leaked screenshots, it seems.
Some of the actions that would be possible when using the service include the option to make the BlackBerry device ring loudly even if it is on silent mode, a great feature when it comes to finding a lost device, that's for sure. Moreover, one can set a message to appear on the handset's screen, so that whoever finds it to provide help. Device lock and remote wiping are also included in the features list of the service.
Since the service also comes with wireless backup of the device, one can avoid accidentally wiping the handset clean. Users should be able to easily save contacts, calendars, memos, tasks and browser bookmarks into the cloud, while being able to access them whenever it's necessary. Reportedly, BlackBerry Shield should be a free service for BIS customers when RIM decides to make it available publicly. Additional details on the matter should emerge as the release date approaches, so stay tuned for more.

Phones Cell Is To Dangerous For Kids
Melbourne: In wake of studies linking mobile phone use to increased risk of brain tumours, kids have been urged to text, rather than talk, on their cell phones. The Australian Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety Agency issued the official caution last week, following a decade-long study into the health effects of using mobile phones.
The agency said that kids needed to take precautions to protect themselves from exposure to radiation because health risks from their long-term mobile phone use were still unknown.“Children should be encouraged to limit exposure from mobile phones to their heads by reducing call time, by making calls where reception is good, by using hands-free devices or speaker options, or by texting,” The Daily Telegraph quoted the agency as saying.

Score Prediction : Brazil Vs Chile World Cup 2010
Score Prediction : Brazil Vs Chile World Cup 2010
The pre-tournament favorite, Brazil have offered little reason not to think they are still the best team in the final 16.Chile was always the second favorite to make it out of Group H with Spain, and they too have met expectations.
But do those expectations include a massive upset of their fellow South American club, the top team in the world on Monday?
It will be difficult for the Chile, especially considering the suspension situation. They will be without three important players for the match: Midfielder Marco Estrada, and defenders Gary Medal and Waldo Ponce. These are huge losses for Chile's coach Marcelo Bielsa.
Brazil, meanwhile, have quality players returning. Kaka, who was suspended for the match with Portugal, will be back; and Robinho, who missed the game with left thigh injury. Robinho claims he could have played if needed, and should be close to 100% for this clash.Brazil have dominated the series. They have won 46, lost only six, and there has been 12 draws.
Brazil beat Chile in both World Cup qualifiers, outscoring them 7-2 in the two games. Brazil has also beaten Chile in both previous meetings at the World Cup. So, with all this against them, can Chile win this game?
On a positive note, Chile did well in the previous game with Spain. They were able to hold possession and create opportunities, almost all of them coming out of the midfield. However, once Chile went down to 10 men it became a different story, as Spain controlled the ball and the chances.
Bielsa's club won't be in awe of Brazil, despite their poor record against them. This is a team with talent and a lot of heart. They will not roll over for powerhouse Brazil.Brazil's coach Dunga was frustrated after their last game in the group stage with Portugal. The highly anticipated match was disappointing for fans for its lack of scoring chances. The game ended in a 0-0 draw.
"The Portuguese team defended from midfield backwards,'' Dunga said. "It made it difficult to penetrate their defense. We nevertheless had three or four goalscoring opportunities."We are not happy. Brazil always play to win and we tried to attack until the end. Portugal didn't want to attack, they wanted to defend. My team is always ready to go forward and that was the case today.''
Brazil does have a couple of injury concerns. Midfielder Felipe Melo is doubtful with a left ankle injury and substitute Julio Baptista is not likely to be available after injuring his knee on Friday, although his absence is not as substantial.
It is possible Chile may attempt to do what Portugal did and frustrate Brazil, defending from midfield back. But I think Chile knows that even doing this they are unlikely to keep Brazil from scoring, especially being short in quality defenders.
Chile will employ more of an offensive, controlled attack, much like they did in the early going versus Spain. They are unlikely to come out on top in a game with a lot of goals, but if they can score one or two and keep Brazil's chances to a reasonable amount, anything is possible.
My prediction Brazil 3 - chile 1

Justin Bieber' Where Are You Now lyrics
Where are you now
When I need you the most
Why don't you take my hand
I want to be close
Help me when I am down
Lift me up off the ground
Teach me right from wrong
Help me to stay strong
Take my hand and walk with me
I need you to set me free yeah
Where are you now
When nothing is going right
Where are you now
I can't see the light
Where are you noooow,
When I need you the most?
Why don't you take my hand?
I wanna be close.
Take my hand and walk with me, yeahh.
Where are you noooooww,
When nothing's going right?
Where are you nooooww?
I can't see the light.
So take my hand and walk with me.
Show me what to be, yeah
I need you to set me free, yeahh.
Where are you now?
Now that I'm half-grown.
Why are we far apart?
I feel all alone.
Where are you noooow?
When nothing's going right.
Where are you now?
I can't see the light...
When I need you the most
Why don't you take my hand
I want to be close
Help me when I am down
Lift me up off the ground
Teach me right from wrong
Help me to stay strong
Take my hand and walk with me
I need you to set me free yeah
Where are you now
When nothing is going right
Where are you now
I can't see the light
Where are you noooow,
When I need you the most?
Why don't you take my hand?
I wanna be close.
Take my hand and walk with me, yeahh.
Where are you noooooww,

Avenged Sevenfold- Afterlife lyrics
Avenged Sevenfold- Afterlife
Like walking into a dream
So unlike what you've seen
So unsure but it seems
'Cause we've been waiting for you
Fallen into this place
Just giving you a small taste
Of your afterlife here so stay
You'll be back here soon anyway
I see a distant light
But girl, this can't be right
Such a surreal place to see
So how did this come to be, arrived too early
And when I think of all the places
I just don't belong
I've come to grips with life
And realize this is going too far
I don't belong here, we gotta move on, dear
Escape from this afterlife
Cause this time I'm right to move on and on
Far away from here
A place of hope and no pain
Perfect skies with no rain
Can leave this place but refrain
'Cause we've been waiting for you
Fallen into this place
Just giving you a small taste
Of your afterlife here so stay
You'll be back here soon anyway
This peace on earth's not right
(With my back against the wall)
No pain or sign of time
(I'm much too young to fall)
So out of place don't wanna stay
I feel wrong and that's my sign
I've made up my mind
Give me your hand
But realize I just wanna say goodbye
Please understand I have to leave
And carry on my own life
I don't belong here, I gotta move on, dear
Escape from this afterlife
Cause this time I'm right to move on and on
Far away from here
Got nothing against you
And surely I'll miss you
This place full of peace and light
And I'd hope you might
Take me back inside when the time is right
Loved ones back home all crying
'Cause they're already missing me
I pray by the grace of God
That there's somebody listening
Give me a chance to be that person I wanna be
(I am unbroken, I'm choking on this ecstasy)
Oh Lord, I'll try so hard but You gotta let go of me
(Unbreak me, unchain me, I need another chance to live)
I don't belong here, I gotta move on, dear
Escape from this afterlife
Cause this time I'm right to move on and on
Far away from here
Got nothing against you

Oscar Wrigley' The Genius 2-years-old
Two year old with the brain of Einstein. Oscar Wrigley has an IQ of at least 160 and at two years and five months, is the youngest child to be accepted into Mensa, the international organisation for people with exceptional intelligence. His score is equal to Einstein and acclaimed British scientist Stephen Hawking.
Oscar's parents say their little genius began talking at nine months and by 18 months was reciting the alphabet in the bath.
By the time he turned two, he had a vocabulary stretching to thousands of words, while most children his age would have mastered only about 50.
Now Oscar lectures his amazed mum and dad about the reproductive cycle of penguins and conducts classical music symphonies as he listens, identifying individual instruments.
"Oscar is a child of very superior intelligence," said Dr Peter Congdon, from the Gifted Children's Information Centre in London.
"His abilities fall well within the range sometimes referred to as intellectually gifted. He demonstrated outstanding ability."
Dr Congdon ranked the toddler in the 99.99th percentile, meaning he is one in 100,000 in terms of his intelligence.
Oscar lives with his IT specialist dad and stay-at-home mum Hannah, 26, in Reading, England.
Both parents have normal IQs, although Oscar's maternal uncle, Jonathan Masters, was a child prodigy who began a university degree in computing aged just 13.
"He is always asking questions," Joe said. "Every parent likes to think their child is special, but we always knew there was something particularly remarkable about Oscar."
Assessors at the Gifted Children's Information Centre said Oscar, an only child, is one of the brightest youngsters they have come across. His intelligence is literally off the scale, with the 45-minute Stanford-Binet test being unable to measure higher than 160.
He will need to be tested further in the years to come to establish his exact score.
He is already showing a gift for music and has asked for a saxophone for Christmas, despite the fact he is far too small to be able to play.
"He will sit in the back of the car listening to the Indiana Jones soundtrack and he'll be conducting with his fingers," Joe said."Then he'll say, 'Here comes the brass with the French horn' and then 'Here come the strings'."
"His vocabulary is amazing. He's able to construct complex sentences. The other day he said to me, 'Mummy, sausages are like a party in my mouth'."A spokesman for Mensa confirmed he was the youngest boy to join the society, which requires a minimum IQ of 148.Mensa UK chief executive John Stevenage said: "Oscar shows great potential. Converting that potential to achievement is the challenge for his parents and we are delighted that they have chosen to join the Mensa network for support."
